Route
We rode from Cape Soya at the northern-most tip of Hokkaido to Cape Sata at the southern-most tip of Kyushu. Before leaving, we mapped out a possible route (see below), but made changes once we were under way based on traffic, terrain, suggestions from locals, whim and Sho's mood. In the end, we visited 9 World Heritage Sites and covered approximately 2,500 miles or 4,000 kilometers.
